"The Hofvijver in Frame"
Project in The Hague / Netherlands
From September 17
until October 17, 2004 ten artists from the Netherlands and ten painters
from the new Member States of the European Union will exhibit their work
on the historical Hofvijver in The Hague. Ten pontoons will be situated
on this lake, each provided with two wooden frames, which will be transformed
into works of art. On one corner of each pontoon a frame by a Dutch artist
will be shown and on the opposite corner the frame of a guest-artist.
On Wednesday September
15, the large frames will be installed on the lake.
The exhibition will
be opened by our Prime Minister, and President of the European Council,
Mr Jan Peter Balkenende on September 17 in the presence of, among others,
the mayor of The Hague and the ambassadors of the ten new Member States.
